Vesicle surface tension was created by xuji2006
Hi
I use the MARTINI force field of DPPC in water.
And I want to know the surface tension between the formed vesicle and the surrounding water.
But I don't know how to realize the computation.
Can someone provide me any advice?
Appreciate any help in advance!
Thanks,
XuJi

Hello, hello,
First I want to refer you to this publication - where vesicle surface tension is discussed / calculated.
M. Louhivuori, H.J. Risselada, E. van der Giessen, S.J. Marrink. Release of content through mechano-sensitive gates in pressurized liposomes. PNAS, 107:19856-19860, 2010.
But in theory for an equilibrated single component vesicle that is not under stress there should not be any surface tension.
Hope this helps,
Cheers,
- Helgi
