Masses of the beads in protein was created by aishwarya
Dear Martini User,

Is it useful to assign different masses of beads in the protein, taking the masses of each element in the bead?

Thank you

Aishwarya

Hi Aishwarya,

sorry for the slow reply. Usually we do not do this, but rather use default bead-size-dependent masses. If you give no masses in your protein.itp, the default masses specified in the martini_vX.X.itp will be used.

In principle, I guess it could be relevant to use the actual masses of the molecule which is being represented if you are interested in looking at diffusion properties. But I'm not really an expert on that so I am not able to comment much more than this.

Hope this helps!
